Spring in New England

I feel bad for those people who live in Miami and San Diego. Sure, they don't spend months of their year locked in ice and darkness, but they also don't get to experience the ecstasy of spring. It's one of the few things in life that you can anticipate for months and still have your expectations exceeded. Spring doesn't last long, and soon I'll be complaining about the heat, but as I watch the snow melt, the world is starting to feel new and full of possibility. It's hard to experience such a profound sense of rebirth when every day is 80 degrees and sunny. Those poor souls.
